NEW CHANGE IN THE LAW! POWER LIMITATION ON INVERTERS

Have you been keeping an eye on the news?

A small but very important change has been made to Decree-Law no. 162/2019 on Article 16 - Counting and making data available. What is the requirement?

• For systems with a connection power greater than 4kW, the installation of a production meter is mandatory!

Until December 1, 2022, the limitation was determined by the power of the solar panels that were installed, but now that same limitation is imposed by the power of the inverters. In other words, if the inverters have a power output of more than 4 kW, it is mandatory to purchase a bidirectional, direct-reading meter in order to count and provide data to the E-grid.

If you don't want to exceed the maximum power of the inverter in order not to install a meter, SolarShop can limit it by issuing a certificate valid from the DGEG so that, even if the inverter has the capacity to produce more Kw, it will comply with the law in force, without having to buy a meter and other required charges.
