Solarshop receives Empresa Gazela 2024 Award
Solarshop's growth path honored with Gazelle Company Award 2024
For the thirteenth year running, the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro (ccdrc) has chosen the gazelle companies in the Center region of Portugal.
On June 25, 2025, Solarshop was honored as Empresa Gazela 2024, at the Ourém Municipal Theatre.
This distinction reflects the growth that Solarshop has experienced in the solar market in Portugal and the company's strengthening at various levels. It is listed in the economic sector “Retail trade, except motor vehicles and motorcycles”.
In order to be included on the ccdrc list, companies need to meet the following requirements:
- Be based in the Center region of Portugal;
- Have been set up between 2015 and 2020;
- Have turnover growth of more than 20% per year in 2021, 2022 and 2023;
- Employed at least 10 workers in 2023;
- Employed at least 10 workers in 2023;
The number of gazelle companies has grown at a galloping pace, with 181 companies from the most diverse economic sectors receiving the distinction.
There was an increase in the number of jobs between 2020 and 2023, thus proving that these are companies with constant growth and a high turnover.

Leiria repeats the feat and is once again the region with the most gazelle companies.
The Leiria region stands out with a high average productivity, above the regional average, and a positive and competitive export volume, thus strengthening the companies' position on the national market and in their respective sectors, reinforcing regional competitiveness.
Together, the Aveiro region, Coimbra and the Leiria region are responsible for 80% of the total exports of gazelle companies in 2023.
